How Reach is determined
- 01
Evaluation Period
IThe foundation of Instagram’s algorithm is a chain reaction mechanism that uses sample sizes for early follower reach to vaguely forecast the future interaction before displaying it to a larger audience.
This is how the Instagram algorithm chooses which posts and accounts to expose to a larger audience of their own followers or other audiences depending on history and the current situation.
It checks how your most loyal audience is responding as soon as content is published.
The first sample size and its level of interaction are quite important since they establish the post’s potential audience in the long run. - 02
Evaluation Period II
If that data from the first sample size is positively recognized by the algorithm it will show it to the next bigger sample size, being accounts that do not belong to that group of loyal followers that always show your content love.
If you think of Instagram reach as being analogous to a chain reaction where you want additional links to form or an inverted pyramid where expanding the top is the objective, then this approach is essential. - 03
Evaluation Period III
The IG algorithm will eventually show the content to users who normally never see it and send it to their feed, as well as suggest that piece of content to followers of other followers who do not follow you. It will also allow the content to enter the hashtag reach rotations and, potentially, the explore page if the data from the first two tests was very positive.
Keep in mind that this will only occur if the audience genuinely believes the content to be of high quality. While Instagram users ultimately make their own decisions, we (Gramglow) can assist in increasing the number of people who see your content in order to increase its likelihood of future success. -

Reach Improving Interactions
-
Likes
Although Instagram “Likes” are the easiest form of interaction, the algorithm still gives them a lot of weight. Even while we don’t intentionally raise the number of likes our clients’ posts get, we do give their posts, videos, and stories a boost at first so that the algorithm will notice the increase in engagement rates and distribute it to more people in your target audience and follower list.
-
Saves
Saves have a significant impact on the algorithm. Instagram users rarely save posts and videos but only if they intend to revisit them in the future, People typically only bookmark culinary videos, instructional videos, really humorous films, or aesthetically pleasing postings from larger pages.
To demonstrate to the algorithm the importance of your post, we try to save each post and video that is published from at least 25-35 accounts. -
Shares
Shares are a clear indication to the algorithm that a post, video, or story is of significance as people are sharing it. It is one of the essential interaction types that suggests the possibility of virality or the capacity for people outside of the follower base to show interest.
Unlike with Likes, Instagram users only share content that is amusing, highly relevant to another person, or controversial.
We attempt to share every post and video that is published from 20–30 accounts to at least 5 other accounts to help the algorithm promote your content to more people in your follower list and outside of your follower list (Hashtags, Explore Page). -
Video Watch Time
Instagram places a great deal of importance on watch time as is it the main objective is to keep viewers on its platform. Watch time is the most important metric for videos and stories on Instagram. It influences Instagram’s algorithm, driving recommendation and discovery while ranking results to guide viewers on what to watch next. Increased watch time signals higher engagement to the algorithm which will benefit a video’s reach to people in your follower base and outside of your follower base (Hashtags and Explore Page).
A lot of accounts struggle with watch time so we make an effort to watch all of your stories and videos multiple times over fully with our accounts to indicate to the algorithm that your videos are worthy of getting more reach. -
Profile Views
Reposting photos, videos and stories is something people rarely ever do especially if it’s not a very important piece of content. If other users repost your content it indicates to the Instagram algorithm that that content is share-worthy and yet again will suggest it to more people in your follower and non-follower pool. We aim to repost all of your posts and videos with at least 10 accounts!

Reach your target audience’s location
It matters where traffic originates from and where it performs well since the algorithm will show your content to more users in these regions. Although our account managers are mostly based in Asia, we position our devices—and consequently, the Instagram accounts we use to promote your content—in the region of your selected target audience by utilizing dedicated static IP addresses and GPS spoofing.
